Now, I'm gonna give you some information about this university, just in case you wanna come and see or applying!
Prasetiya Mulya University is located in BSD City, Tangerang, Indonesia. It is the first university to spawn "Business Degree" and "Event Degree" in Indonesia. Prasetiya Mulya University itself, is an economic and management based university, it consists of 5 major (as they say it), and those are:
- S1 Business
- S1 Accounting
- S1 Finance
- S1 Event
- S1 Marketing/Branding
And next year, it's about to get bigger, with not only 5 majors, but 14 majors. The new majors are:
1. S1 Tourism Business
2. S1 Hukum Bisnis Internasional
3. S1 Ekonomi Bisnis
4. S1 Matematika Bisnis
5. S1 Software Engineering
6. S1 Computer Engineering
7. S1 Product Design Engineering
8. S1 Food Technology
9. S1 Energy Engineering

What makes PrasMul so special? PrasMul has a different kind of learning management and learning system, it dislike using too many theories. Life is much bigger than a theory, life has to be dealt with good social skills and also tremendously good attitude. Without those, you may not survive being in the world. Theory is like a bridge, connecting between the real world and the artificial world known as mind and attitude of every individuality. PrasMul, is not only improving its students' psychometric but also cognitive.
PrasMul often spawn its students into the real job world, which means they do company visit and interview one of the members of the company, or they do the program called "On Job Training". "On Job Training" or OJT, is a program in which the students work in a company. This usually done by the first semester students. To make the students active, not only in class, PrasMul has a system called the Career Point. Students must collect at least 70 career points in order to graduate from this university. Okay so let me just make this in a list or you won't read this.
1. Career Point
You must collect at least 70 CPs in order to graduate from PrasMul. You can get CP by simply doing one or some of these things: Be the audience of any seminars, win or participate in a competition, becoming a committee member whether in PrasMul or outside PrasMul, and you will get the biggest CP if you have a business and it works very well. Each of those activity I mention above, has its own value, so the more complicated and more international an activity is, the more CP it is likely to be caught. Use this motto: "Don't catch CP, instead, let the CP catch you!".
2. LMS (Learning Management System)
This, is the technological kind of academic board. Everything you need to know is already provided in LMS, example: Academic calendar, curriculum, academic schedule, online materials, score boards and many more. You just need to log in to it, and you can see and know every single important information about this week's activity. You don't need to queue anymore in a hectic way in order too scores or see informations, you just need to sit down by yourself, log in and then you get everything you need. Simple as that.
3. Mailing List
Every important or not important information will be automatically sent to our inbox by the administration or the student engagement. For example, a car's lamp is still on with the police number B 1234 UPM. Then it will be shared to every single students of PrasMul to let the owner or the owner's friends know about this.
4. PMBS Student's Personal Email
PrasMul provides its students personal email using gmail. Why gmail? because it has google drive and youtube which make PrasMul Students easily contacting and sharing stuffs one another. You can also use this email to contact the Faculty Members (teachers) if only you had any question or appointment needs. Easy right?
5. Amphitheater Class Room
The Classrooms is completed with 4 ACs each classroom, large white board, a projector and its screen, and a tapping machine as presence absent machine.
6. Kita Mart
Is the name of a mini market inside PrasMul, owned by PrasMul. Believe or not, it sells goods cheaper than any other mini markets. I don't even know how they do it, but well...that's what is called business.
7. Introductory Program (IP)
PrasMul has a very special way mentoring and introducing its campus and its activities to the new students, it's called the Introductory Program. Unlike any other university, IP has its own values and characters, and it usually takes around 14 days of IP (13 days + 1 day for welcoming night). Each of those 13 days serves different kind of values and characters which are:
Advancement
Learning
Persistence & Honesty
Acceptance
Caring
Humility
Achieving
INtegrity
Analytical Thinking
Maturity
Interpersonal relationship
Communication
Achievement
So each day of IP represents those 13 values and characters of Prasmulyan and also every day the new students are given new tasks which all has its own value for the new students. The new students, whether they are aware or not, will get improvement after the IP. It is heavy, perhaps one of the heaviest orientation program in Indonesia (or perhaps the world). But believe me, you will know exactly what is the use of IP after passing it or some time in the future when you face the working world. I can say that IP is the wrap up of all worst situations you will face in the future, in order to get improvement of yourself, you need to leave the comfort zone behind and IP has the best way to force you to get out of your comfort zone. Mark this sentence, THERE ARE NO UNIVERSITY IN INDONESIA EXCEPT PRASETIYA MULYA, WHICH APPLY VALUES AND CHARACTERS IN EVERY DAY OF ITS ORIENTATION PROGRAM. Usually orientation program is about bullying and make fun of new students, some sort of refreshing moment for the seniors, but this does not apply in PrasMul, it is completely different and useful and meaningful.
8. Smart Card and Tapping Machine
Smart Card is a student card, without which your presence will be count as absent that day. You need to tap you smart card to the tapping machine in order to presence that day, also you can only access the library by tapping your smart card to the tapping machine on the library door. Futuristic right? It's still rare to find university using this kind of method. Oh I almost forgot, the tapping machine consists of Smart Card Reader, Finger Print Scanner and a camera. You cannot lie you attend to the class while you're actually not.
9. On Job Training
It is a must do for the 1st semester students. The students is asked to apply for jobs in a company and work there for at least a month, and they also need to make report out of it. The bigger the scope of the company, the more CPs the students will get, quite fair right?
