1. Museum Angkut
So it's a museum that shows us everything about vehicles and its histories. I know it sounds boring, but when you come in, there's no such word as boring, because they know how to show us history in an interesting way. The place is great, it has so many spots to take photos if you are a photo freak like me. To be exact, the museum is located in Batu, Malang, so it's not pretty hot, more or less the air feels like you're actually in Bandung. I recommend this place so much, oh and don't bring any cameras (except the one on your phones) to the museum, or you'll be charged 10k Rupiahs per camera. Don't worry, they allow you to take pictures via your own phones, the staffs even help you taking the photos. The staffs are very polite and helpful by the way.
Those are some of old cars that you can find after entering the first gate.
And those are some more, unfortunately you are not allowed to get in the car. Because some of Indonesian people sometimes are not responsible for what they're doing, just a prevention.
And if you go to the 2nd route, you will find out these stuffs:
There are some of historical ships being shown along the hall, you can see Titanic on the right picture. And of course, you are not allowed to touch these ships, you can only take pictures with it. They also show us the explanation and the history of the ships, so it's quite interesting I guess. You come to this place just knowing the name of the ships without knowing further information. Then you get out of this museum knowing something new, which you can share it. That's the educational thing which is rare to be found nowadays. You just go to a place and go home without getting any knowledge, but this place teach you something new in a great ways, I love it.
There are also old bikes and a steam machine (which I did not take a photo of it) shown at the end of the hall before you're going to go to the next route. I can imagine people back then riding on those bikes, can you imagine Marilyn Monroe with her iconic blown dress riding this? She won't be able to ride it, she would be busy holding her dress or else there will be a wardrobe malfunction and the boys will...okay forget it, moving on.
You know what? Asia people are the most creative of all I think. You can see it on this picture, the old motorcycle with a seat for a (or two) passenger. You won't find any of this vehicle on the western, so Edward Butler, you have been literally defeated by the Asian.
If you keep going - well you have to or you shall never find the exit - you will find some airplanes, and you can take some photographs inside the airplanes, the picture above is one of the example of the plane. You can get on to the fake airplane with the ticket which has been given on the counter when you get inside the museum, so you don't need to pay more.
The picture above is the china town, a fake china town of course, with a lot of Chinese stuffs as well. There are some old fashioned stores shown along the way, you'll feel like you're actually in Hong Kong, while we all know, you are in Indonesia. I feel like I visited my great great grand father's hometown.
after that, this museum will take you to another continent, yup it's Europe. So technically you go from Hong Kong to London in less than 5 minutes, okay 10 minutes if you take selfies along the way. Again, you can take pictures as much as you can along the way, and believe me, even I haven't gone to Europe, I can feel the European vibes very very much in this place. The only thing that's disturbing is the roof, they should've decorated the roof with, more sky-like theme. With that roof on the photo, you literally look like inside a Hangar, with a little England in it.
They also have garage, and English Garage, with English style and English car as well. Yes, it looks like my garage with a little English in it.
And that is the prototype of shoes salon. Back then there are shoes salon on the sidewalk, to clean random people's shoes. I think they should have something like "Phone Salon" or "Free Wifi House" on the sidewalk, so people would walk more and use car less, therefore traffic jam will be decreased. People in the past are just so creative, if only we can created the futuristic thing of this, it would be great. Thanks to this museum for the inspiration though...
And above is the panorama picture of the surrounding in Europe Route ( I call it that way). Elegant isn't it?
You can also be a fake cinderella by riding this thing. You can literally get on to this thing since there are no prohibition signs. Just be responsible of your act, there's a statement "Break it, pay it." you should mind that statement.
No, it's not a Taylor Swift's concert promotion nor a Cornetto promotion since I am not paid for that. Ignore the person, just take a look at the surroundings. What I don't get is, why was there a Japanese Flag between UK's flag? You had one job people, one job.
That's a Buckingham Palace-like building. Good thing they don't have stairs to go to the 2nd level, or else I won't be able to take a photograph of it this good. You might wanna check out what's inside.
This is how it looks like in the inside. I am pretty sure this isn't how Buckingham Palace look like in the inside, well maybe just those photographs of Kings and Queens of England featured in the real one, and those lamps too.
That's the picture of one of the cars shown inside the Buckingham Palace, it's incredible how they have the dates, the years, and it's still all kept very well. So those are the cars which were used by Kings and Queens of England, some kind of their favorite car. There are some explanations about it and it's shown on the large board hung on the wall.
After that Buckingham Palace Route, you will face the second last route. On this route, you will find a large garage full of luxurious cars. I think the cars are more luxurious than the one in the first route, and there are more of it here. You can see cars from 1920s until early 2000s in this large garage. Don't worry, if you are tired, there are plenty of chairs along the way, you can take pictures as well in this route.
So what are you waiting for? This place is waiting for you. Oh and in the last route, you'll find a prototype of trains, in which you have to walked on to it in order to go to the exit. If you don't go through this last route, you will forever be locked in Museum Angkut. After the exit, you can eat main courses on the canteen provided just before you reach the parking lot. There are also some kind of floating market beside the canteen that sell souvenirs, traditional masks, and also some traditional toys. But still, Bandung's Floating Market in Lembang is the best, much better than this one. It's larger and of course cooler than the one in Malang. But for the rest of the journey I had in this Museum, I can rate it 8/10. It's just perfect and comfortable and unforgettable. There are so far no such place in Indonesia except in Malang. I recommend you to go to this place, the ticket cost will be 90k Rupiahs (there are few different packages). Enjoy!
